Hilarious in his stupidity without coming off as "Patrick but a rabbit" (I'm a sort-of poet and I don't even know it). Believe in posts and share fake news Start 7 day free trial. One final note, my favourite character was Richard. Season 1 Episode Guide Season 1 Directed by Mic Graves. But I'm glad that, when this show debuted, Gumball more often than not gave me a good laugh. I don't reaĺly have anything else of note to say about this first season of a cartoon that I'm very, very likely NOT going to review the rest of, due to any plans to continue watching shows such as this and Adventure Time being cancelled due to loss of interest and knowing how they end. The way a "Be Yourself" message was executed in one episode did come off as a change of pace from its usually more generic execution in animated films, even ones I do like. Some episodes I genuinely didn't like (I tended to change the channel as soon as I recognised some of the episode names) for what, in hindsight, come off as rather petty reasons but overall, it was quite funny and even surprisingly charming and sweet. But enough about that, is the actual cartoon any good? Yes. With its combination of different characters in different art styles and dimensions, you've definitely got a show that, on that front, was insane. The Amazing World of Gumball is certainly a visually unique series, that's for sure. My reasoning for this Tomatometer-less review? I remember being a fan of this show when it first aired in my home country on about the same level as SpongeBob before I parted ways with these cartoons for more teen and adult-oriented shows, regrettably missing out on any beard-growing this show might have had, alongside Adventure Time and Regular Show.
